The main characters are two "Don Juans", professional "fiancees", who travel the country in search of desperate women willing to spend money to find their soulmates.

Mitzi Gaynor and guests Ted Knight (Mary Tyler Moore Show), Jerry Orbach (Chicago), Suzanne Pleshette (Bob Newhart Show) and Jane Withers in music, dance and comedy vignettes celebrating housewives. Songs include "Married," "I Can Cook, Too," and "You Are the Sunshine of My Life." The cast also attend a party performing "The Little Things We Do Together" from Stephen Sondheim's Company.

The film is about the flickering time of travel in unfamiliar space. This video sequence, sound track and text, communicating with each other through roll calls, resonances and random coincidences. Together they form an unstable object, a movie about architecture and music, immovable and racing.

Although it was actually an impersonal commissioned film, the director's style is clearly recognizable. Once again he manages to make something that is normal very strange: the dancing people in costumes are filmed in such a way that they look bizarre and absurd. Jan de Bont's camerawork shows a series of color images of dancing people, edited to the rhythm of the music. Halfway through the film, a lonely clown can be seen among the dancing crowd, accompanied by sad music. This clown is played by Ditvoorst himself.
