After the East India Company forces Kattabomman, the king of Panchalankurichi, to pay taxes and be their subordinate, the latter decides to fight against them.

London, 1846: successful barber, Sweeney Todd, has for years been haunted by the loss of his parents at the hands of a cruel Judge. One fateful night, his path crosses with local baker, Mrs. Lovett, a woman who too has suffered a devastating miscarriage of justice by the same judge and his corrupt associates. The bullfighter Marcial Lalanda financed and starred in this film about the rivalry between two bullfighters for the ill-fated love of the same woman. It features scenes of bullfights shot by Enrique Blanco using polychromatic film for the first time in Spain. Considered one of the greatest Spanish silent films.

The action continues in the luxury villas and apartments of Berlin, Renate Müller wears a string of very elegant outfits. Wealthy and ill Petr Kornel (Karel Hasler) is not pleased with the carousing lifestyle of his nephew. He stops supporting him financially and demands that he change his name. Out of gratitude Kornel bequeaths a substantial sum of money to his nurse Alice (Adina Mandlová) with the condition that she marries. Petr Suk (Hugo Haas), as the nephew is now named, visits the doctor. In the waiting room his X-ray is mistakenly switched with one of another patient's. On the basis of this he presently learns that he is seriously ill and has only one day of life left to him.

Hsiao and his family move into a big apartment which is surprisingly cheap. When they get settled, strange things start to happen. In the 50s, a bar waitress, Lucy lived with her boyfriend Tim in the same apartment. Tim was a US sailor and he had to leave Hong Kong after the holiday. He abandoned Lucy after she was pregnant. Out of rage, Lucy committed suicide and killed her baby boy too. She swore to kill Tim after death. Hsiao's wife and daughter have been possessed by Lucy and her son and Lucy wants to kill Hsiao on his birthday…
