Wimbledon 2018 - Official Film Review

Wimbledon 2014 is the definitive account of the 128th Championships. Coming into the tournament, the top four seeds in the Gentlemen's Singles were Serbia's Novak Djokovic, Spain's Rafael Nadal, fresh from winning a ninth French Open title, the defending champion Andy Murray and seven-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer. In the Ladies Singles, world No.1 Serena Williams was the undisputed favourite, but world No.2 Li Na and French Open champion Maria Sharapova could not be counted out. For the third year running, however, Nadal's campaign was ended in a shock upset at the hands of teenage wildcard Nick Kyrgios.

Coming into the tournament, there was a particular significance to the defending champion, Novak Djokovic's bid for a third title. Thirty years earlier his coach Boris Becker had won the first of his three singles titles. Meanwhile women's world No.1 Serena Williams had her sights set on something really special - completing her hold on all four majors at once for only the second time in her career. There were some surprise early round exits. Fourteen-time major winner Rafael Nadal and defending champion Petra Kvitova were beaten by the qualifier Dustin Brown and former world No.1 Jelena Jankovic respectively. Britain's Heather Watson was two points away from victory over Williams before the American clawed her way to survival; while Novak Djokovic survived a dramatic five-set encounter against Kevin Anderson from South Africa.

Two teenagers are playing by night in a dirty parking lot. After they are driving on an empty road, they start to tease each other on the way to the sea, but they seem to be too young to drive and the road is a bit strange.

Do, Re and Mi in this sequeal tells the tale of a group of gangsters who are planning to rob a bank. So they use this oppurtunity to con them out of it and capture them at the same time. Many comedic memorable moments are carried out through the movie.

Compelling film clips and entertaining montages from his 20-year film career are introduced, with personal anecdotes, by co-stars and colleagues including Halle Berry, Bruce Willis, Angela Bassett, Robert Downey, Jr, Ethan Hawke, and Keanu Reeves. Oscar winner and "Philadelphia" co-star Tom Hanks presents Denzel with the award and the man of the hour accepts with humor and humility.

A Dutch photographer (played by David Verbeek himself – also a talented photographer in real life) takes a picture of a girl in a parking lot in nighttime Taipei as she plays with her kite. The photo transports us into her life. She is eight years old and is about to lose her best friend, a boy from a wealthy family who is moving to America. Back in the Netherlands, the photographer is confronted with his own constant loneliness. The photo of the girl evokes memories of his own childhood, when he still felt at home somewhere.

The sport of women's roller derby has made an enormous comeback, now with more than 30 leagues nationwide forming the Women's Flat Track Derby Association. Blood on the Flat Track focuses on the Rat City Rollergirls of Seattle, who formed their league from scratch in April of 2004. In the first season, the league started playing at a small rink in front of about 200 fans; they now sell out of 1,500 tickets monthly. This film follows the teams throughout its first two seasons and focuses on the women who comprise the league, their teams' struggle to win the championship bout and their relationships with each other.
