An enigmatic Japanese woman, abandoned by her wealthy Chinese husband in a remote Pacific Northwest village, becomes entwined in the lives of two rugged locals.

After a married businessman has his way with a young prostitute he takes good soak in the bath. When he returns to the bedroom he discovers her bloody body. Suddenly two men enter the room with cameras proceed to blackmail him. At first they just want money but when they find out the businessman has a sexy wife she becomes part of the payment.

A mentally-afflicted young man is accused of murdering his longtime benefactor. The real truth of what happened lies in his mad obsession with his supposed victim's old typewriter, on which he types relentlessly, day and night.
