The eldest daughter, Zhou Rong, follows her poet husband to the countryside of Guizhou. The youngest son, Zhou Bing Kun, is the only one left at home with their mother. In the span of 50 years, the Zhou family is swept by the tides of change in China.

Big Fat Gypsy Weddings is a British documentary series broadcast on Channel 4, that explores the lives and traditions of several Irish Traveller families as they prepare to unite one of their number in marriage. After its debut on TV, the program has become famous throughout Brazil. The show is now broadcast by Rede Bandeirantes as Pânico na Band The program Pânico on the Radio has existed since 1993 on Jovem Pan. The idea of doing a different program came about from the owner of the Jovem Pan radio station Antonio Augusto Amaral de Carvalho, known as Tuta. He thought about doing a radio program inspired by the American broadcaster Howard Stern, and thus created Pragrama Radio Panic, presented by Emilio Surita, Marcos Chiesa, Marcelo Baptista and Fernando Mello, 10 years later after its great success with the radio audience estimated at seventeen million listeners, divided among 749 municipalities, which created the program Pânico na TV.

Chapi Chapo is a French short stop-motion series. Created by Italo Bettiol and Stephano Lonati, with music by François de Roubaix, it premiered in 1974 on RF Television and ran for 60 5-minute episodes. The show aired on American television in the 1980s as part of Nickelodeon's Pinwheel. It was named "Chapi Chapo" as a play-on-words with the French word, chapeaux, which means "hats". Both of the main characters wore oversized hats that matched their clothing. The one in red is Chapi and the one in blue is Chapo. Each episode ends with a little dance.

The Adventures of Timothy Pilgrim was a children's television serial consisting of ten 15 minute installments which originally aired in 1975 on Canada's TVOntario and was rerun countless times afterward over the next decade on TVO as well as on other Canadian educational channels and PBS. The title character is a shoeshine boy who travels back 100 years in time by means of a magic trunk and meets Zachariah Gibson, a travelling salesman and showman who peddles elixers and tonics. Episodes are based on the pair's travels between the worlds of the 1875 and 1975. Both characters face challenges in their respective times - Timothy is an orphan who squats in an abandoned warehouse and makes a living shining shoes and doing odd jobs at a neighbourhood diner owned by Wilma. Zachariah Gibson is a travelling salesman who sells medicinal cure-all elixirs of dubious quality out of his wagon. The two form an unlikely bond across time that teaches Zachariah the value of friendship.
